Water, is it Underrated? : CORESOSA

Water is underrated. Fluid balance is important. Water is essential to life. The human body is made up of 40% - 70% water, which is mostly found in muscle tissue. Men have a greater percentage by weight because they have more muscle tissue than woman. A inorganic substance which means it doesn't contain carbon and is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom (h2o). When training you want to stay hydrated and drink water before, during and after to avoid performance issue. In general, not drinking enough water is dangerous and can cause many health issues. Water is vital, it helps maintain your body temperature when you workout and start to sweat.*

 

Consumption

Women should consume 2.7 liters (91 ounces or 11 cups) from beverages and food a day.

Men should consume 3.7 litters (125 ounces or 15 cups) from beverages and food a day.

During exercise you should consume about a cup of water every 15-20 minutes or 2-4 cups every hour.*

 

Note

Electrolytes like potassium and sodium are lost in sweat and must be replenished after exercising or after any type of prolonged activities. So go ahead and grab that sports drink when training longer than 60 minutes or in hot environments.*
